Climate in Hanoi

So I left Hanoi, being told that I was escaping what is a miserable, damp cold February. People consistently told me it is a horribly miserable month, when it's always in the mid-60's (or last year, it got down to the 40's!!), and the lack of insulation or heating (and the fact that you ride motorbikes, not sitting in warm toasty cars) makes it just awful.

I'm not in Hanoi at the moment, and I thought this was a strategically excellent decision to escape the yucky weather. Imagine my surprise when I read it's between 85 and 91 degrees in Hanoi right now! That's pushing the all time high, as recorded here by the BBC, for the month of February which was 34 degrees.

Go figure. I also like how by June this lovely British news publication predicts I will be in "extreme" discomfort from the heat. Just can't win...
